The Shippensburg Swing Band, under the direction of Vicki Baker, is a 20-plus member swing band located in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Our musicians hail from Shippensburg, Newville, Chambersburg, Waynesboro, and other surrounding towns. It is part of a three-band organization: the Shippensburg Community Band, the Shippensburg Blaskapelle German Band and the Shippensburg Swing Band. We are a non-profit community organization that raises money to support local area causes, including scholarship money and music lessons for students.
The Shippensburg Swing Band enjoys playing for many venues such as dances and dinners, fairs and street fairs, private parties, festivals, church functions and concerts, just to mention a few.
Our music spans from the 1930s through the 1950s, concentrating on the 30s and 40s styles of music.
Whether you enjoy dancing to the tunes of these eras, or simply enjoy just listening to the music, we are sure you will enjoy coming out to hear us.
